The 8 Wastes of Lean (TIMWOODS)

Transport: Unnecessary movement of materials or information,
Inventory: Excess raw materials, WIP, or finished goods not being processed,
Motion: Unnecessary physical movement by people (reaching, walking, etc.),
Waiting: Wasted time waiting for the next step in a process,
Overproduction: Producing more than is needed or before it is needed,
Over-processing: Doing more work than required by the customer,
Defects: Information, products, or services that are incomplete or incorrect,
Skills: Underutilizing people's talents, skills, or knowledge.
